FORD RANGER NO.1 SELLING VEHICLE IN SOUTH AFRICA IN APRIL | WITH FURY FORD SANDTON

Fury Ford Sandton is decidedly proud of Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (FMCSA), which has continued its record-breaking sales performance, achieving its best-ever market share, highest-ever sales for April and segment-topping volumes for key models.

The locally assembled Ranger was the top-seller in the light commercial vehicle segment - this is the second time it took the top spot for the LCV sales and total industry sales.

The Ford Fiesta benefitted from increased availability of the award winning EcoBoost engine on more series along with the Powershift Automatic Transmission. Once again the Ford EcoSport dominated the compact SUV segment, retaining first place for the thirteenth month in a row.

"Ford has broken sales records every month this year, and achieving our highest-ever market share in April is testament to the customer response to our vehicle line up in South Africa," says Mark Kaufman, Vice President, Marketing, Sales and Service, FMCSA.

"Pricing and overall value for money are key considerations for most customers, as are safety and technology. Our current range excels in all of these areas, and this is reflected in the growing customer demand for our rapidly expanding passenger car and commercial vehicle line-up."

Ford's aggressive launch programme is set to continue for the rest of the year, and includes several important new models such as the B-Max, Focus ST, all-new Everest, new Ranger and the iconic Mustang.
