STUDENTS BREAK 0-100 KM/H WORLD RECORD | WITH FURY FORD SANDTON

At Fury Ford Sandton we love to break records and push the limits of excellence, so when we read this article; we felt the pull of solidarity! It’s a quick read, for an even quicker vehicle. And… it’s electric.

One of the greatest features of electric vehicles is that you have maximum torque available from 0 r/min, providing whip-like speed straight off the starting mark. This allowed students from the University of Stuttgart to break the 0-100 km/h world record.

The car looks like a cross between a go-kart and a formula one car. It’s hard to believe that it can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 1,779 seconds, but it does! (That’s 0,006 seconds faster than the previous record, although it must still be confirmed by Guinness World Records.)

The all-wheel electric vehicle is equipped with four electric motors and a 6,62 kWh battery. Whilst it won’t be seen on our roads, probably ever, it’s a massive kudos to the electric vehicle field of research and development. To see a video of this speedster in action - Click Here
